Decisive First Aid Terms & Conditions
Andrew Barras trading as Decisive First Aid, 18 Heathfield Road, Hitchin, Herts, SG5 1SY. (Supplier: “we”, “us”, “our”).
The 'tutor' means the qualified trainer/assessor who will deliver the course.
The 'client’ means the organising body/company/individual responsible for booking and payment of the course.
‘Attendee’ means any person attending a course being delivered by Decisive First Aid.
‘Venue’ means the room(s) where the First Aid Course will take place.
‘Open Course’ means any First Aid Course that has been organised on a date, and at a venue, chosen by Decisive First Aid. Open courses can be attended by any client who has completed the booking and payment process.
‘Group Course’ means any First Aid Course that has been organised on a date, and at a venue, chosen by the client, and agreed by Decisive First Aid .
‘Bespoke Course’ means any first aid course with content agreed between the client and Decisive First Aid. Bespoke courses will be certificated by Decisive First Aid. If the bespoke course contains all the content of a regulated course, then it can be certificated by our Awarding Organisation.
- Bookings and Payment for Open Courses
|3.1||All bookings are made with the Andrew Barras trading as Decisive First Aid whose office is 18 Heathfield Road, Hitchin, Herts, SG5 1SY.|
|3.2||We accept BACS transfer payments, or payments through PAYPAL. BACS payments are to:-Decisive First Aid.

|3.3||Fourteen days before the course you will be requested to provide the names of the candidates who will be attending the course.|
- Cancellations and Refunds for Open Courses
|4.1||Should the Client wish to cancel a booking, this can be done by email.|
|4.2||Should the client wish to cancel a booking the following charges shall apply unless there are exceptional circumstances:|
|4.3||Refunds are not available in whole or in part for courses missed due to late arrival, illness, accident, or for any other cause outside the control of Decisive First Aid.|
|4.4||A client who misses any part of the course, for whatever reason, will not get certificated as having completed the course, and will not be entitled to any refund unless agreed by Decisive First Aid.|
- Bookings and Payment for Group Courses
|5.1||All bookings are made with the Andrew Barras trading as Decisive First Aid whose office is 18 Heathfield Road, Hitchin, Herts, SG5 1SY.|
|5.2||The client must confirm that the venue they have selected is suitable for the course to be run. As a minimum requirement the venue shall be a safe, quiet environment and have adequate ventilation. The venue will be free from trip hazards. There must be at least one electrical socket available. The course tutor and each attendee must have a chair to sit on. The floor space must be large enough for the attendees to sit in comfort and also be able to carry out group exercises on the floor. The floor will be clean. There will be adequate parking. If there is any doubt about the suitability of the clients chosen venue, please discuss this when making enquiries. Photographs may help clarify the suitability.|
|5.3||Decisive First Aid reserves the right to cancel a course if the venue chosen by the client is unsuitable. No refund will be made in such circumstances.|
|5.4||Booking the venue is the responsibility of the client.|
- Cancellations and Refunds for Group Courses
|6.1||Should the Client wish to cancel a booking, this can be done by email.|
|6.2||If a cancellation is required due to the need to self-isolate, then if the tutor needs to self-isolate, a full refund will be issued to the client. No other liability can be accepted. If an attendee needs to self-isolate, the candidate may transfer onto another course, free of charge and subject to availability. If too many candidates are affected, the course can be rescheduled, subject to availability. Charges may apply.|

- Participation on our Courses
|7.1||Candidates attending the course are requested to bring ID with them such as driving licence, passport, works photo ID. This helps prevents malpractice and consequential loss of confidence.|
|7.2||The course includes some practical sessions where the client will have to carry out Basic Life Support on a mannequin. This is a compulsory part of the course and clients should ensure they are fit and appropriately attired for this.|
|7.3||Candidates must only attend the course if they are well. Any candidate who has Covid19 symptoms or who should be self-isolating must not attend.|
|7.4||Any candidate who becomes unwell during the course may be asked to leave. No refund will be given.|
|7.5||Any candidate who fails to follow hygiene procedures will be asked to leave the course. No refund will be given.|
Decisive First Aid excludes all liability, to the extent permitted by law, for any injury or loss suffered during a Decisive First Aid course.
Any contract between Decisive First Aid and another party will be governed by, and construed and interpreted in accordance with, English law.
- Awarding Organisations
|10.1||Decisive First Aid is an approved centre with ITC First, an Awarding Organisation regulated by Ofqual, Qualifications Wales and SQA. Decisive First Aid agrees to abide by standards and policies as set out by ITC First so that you can have full confidence in the course content, delivery and the certification. |10.2||Andrew Barras is First Aid tutor with British Canoeing Lifeguards and an approved provider of the British Canoeing Lifeguards courses.|

|12.2||Decisive First Aid will not be made liable for the consequences of strikes, industrial action, wars, riots, sickness, quarantine, government intervention, weather conditions, or other untoward occurrences, whatever they may be.|
